Pulp’s ‘Common People’ is basically a six minute pop song that explains everything you need to know about Britain in the Britpop year, from the posh and common to the males and females, and even to the rum and the beer, Cocker covers it all. Literally. So inevitably, ‘Common People’ defined Generation Britpop.
